Vintage Postcards of the Steamship Lines - Steamers and Ocean Liners

The Gjenvick-Gjønvik Archives has hundreds of vintage postcards, primarily dealing with maritime topics  or port of calls that date from the late 1800’s to the 1950s.  Of special interest are image based postcards, particularly of interior and exterior views of steamships and port side activities.

	1939	United States Lines SS Washington. The Washington is in regular service to and from New York, Ireland, England, France and Germany. The Washington and her sister ship, the Manhattan, are the largest liners ever built in the United States. A third sister ship, the new "America" will join the Manhattan and Washington in transatlantic service in the spring of 1940. Undated.
